O’Brien turns to Mine That Bird in battle with NBC
January 22, 2010 - Conan O’Brien, marching toward his very public divorce from NBC and The Tonight Show, incorporated Mine That Bird, or at least the name of the 2009 Kentucky Derby (G1) winner, in a sketch on Thursday.
O’Brien presented a chestnut horse as Mine That Bird, ensconced in a “mink Snuggie,” at about the 17:45 point in the show. Mine That Bird is a bay.

MINE THAT BIRD NOMINATED for 2009 Eclipse Award
January 6, 2010 - Mine That Bird was revealed Wednesday as one of the finalists in the Three-Year-Old Male Category by the National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA), National Turf Writers Association (NTWA) and Daily Racing Form (DRF), the three presenting organizations of the Eclipse Awards.
The 39th Eclipse Awards ceremony will be held Monday, January 18 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.
Three-Year-Old Male: Mine That Bird, Quality Road, Summer Bird
The Eclipse Awards are presented by the NTRA, the National Turf Writers Association and Daily Racing Form in recognition of excellence in Thoroughbred racing.
Eclipse Awards are bestowed upon horses and individuals whose outstanding achievements have earned them the title of Champion in their respective categories.
Awards also are given to recognize members of the media for outstanding coverage of thoroughbred racing.
